Tomb Raider – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the film score to the 2018 film of the same name, based on the 2013 video game of the same name by Crystal Dynamics. The music was composed by Tom Holkenborg and was recorded at AIR Studios in London. The soundtrack was released digitally on 9 March 2018 by Sony Classical Records[1] with the vinyl being released on 24 August 2018.[2]

Background

Tom Holkenborg signed on as the film's composer after being removed from Justice League in which Danny Elfman took over.

On creating the sound for Tomb Raider, Holkenborg combined a bunch of different animals sounds to create a foundation for the score, and then worked on top of that. Tom had worked very closely with director Roar Uthaug by relaying that an original approach was needed to portray the journey of Lara, the grittiness and realism of strong percussion. A heroic theme was also developed for Lara, as her primary transition into becoming the Tomb Raider.[3]
