Now Called The Woodlands Township

The Town Center Improvement District (TCID) was formed in 1993 by the Texas, USA legislature as a government agency charged with promoting and maintaining economic development in The Woodlands Town Center area. In 2001, TCID created a special economic development zone to assist in the expansion of the Pavilion (see below).

TCID has generated more than $60 million in local sales tax and $379 million in tax revenue for the State of Texas since 1993.
