A tricyclopod is a three-wheeled motorized (usually electric) scooter-like vehicle, which is ridden in upright standing position and is used for personal transportation. Triyclopods stand upright by themselves and do not require balancing. Simple models without a gearbox are not generally used on steep hills, being optimized instead for riding fast (15 miles per hour (24 km/h)) on flatter roads. The typical usage of a tricyclopod is for local commute on paved roads.
