Tyreek Burwell (born March 11, 1992) is an American football offensive tackle for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2015 as an undrafted free agent. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati. He is also known for using Twitter to falsely accuse and threaten a Twitter user believed to be from the Albany area of New York as part of his sister's hate crime hoax. She is currently facing several charges, including assault, for her part in the hoax.[1]

Professional career

After going unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft, Burwell signed with the San Diego Chargers on May 3, 2015.[2] On September 10, he was waived, but signed to the practice squad two days later.[3] He was promoted to the active roster on September 29.[4]

On November 5, 2016 Burwell was released by the Chargers.[5] Three days later, the Chargers signed Burwell to their practice squad.[6] He was promoted to the active roster on November 14.
