Universal Machine gun model 1959 ("Univerzální kulomet vzor 59" in Czech) is a universal machine gun developed in the fifties. This weapon is still used by the Czech Army and the Slovak Armed Forces.

This gun fires 7.62x54mmR ammunition (although the Vz. 59N variant for 7.62 NATO exists, too) delivered via belt. This weapon serves as light (light barrel and bipod, vz. 59L model) and medium machine gun (heavy barrel and tripod), and can be used as a co-axial machine gun (Vz. 59T version).
