İnci Eviner (b. 1956, Polatlı) is a contemporary Turkish painter and artist. She works in painting, sculpture, installation art and video art.[1]

She began to art from childhood such as she drew oil copies and drawings, and in high school studied photography and caricature.[2] She graduated from the Painting Department of Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. She worked with Mehmet Güleryüz at the Academy. She open their first solo exhibition in Istanbul. She held many solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.[3] She has participated in many biennials, including the Istanbul, Venice, Taiwan, Thessaloniki, Shanghai and Busan Biennials. His work has been exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille. Solo exhibitions have taken place at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, MAC/VAL Vitry-sur-Seine and The Drawing Center New York.[4]

Eviner's retrospective exhibition Who's Inside?, examine  creative process from the 1980s to the present, was held at Istanbul Modern in 2016.[5] In 2019, he exhibited the work titled "We" and "Elsewhere" as the artist of the Turkey Pavilion at the 58th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.[6]

In 1998, Eviner began teaching at Yıldız University, Faculty of Art and Design, and in 2006 he received his PhD from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts.[7] Eviner has been teaching experimental art workshop and performative research courses as an associate professor at Kadir Has University Faculty of Art and Design, Since 2011.[8]

Her center of  work are line and pattern.[9] In her work, her installations and performances address women's identity in particular and the question of identity in general within a political, cultural and historical framework.
