My grandfather of the 4th Bedfordshire Regiment is recorded as having been Killed in Action on 29th April, 1917. He is named on the Arras memorial, and other information states that he died in the action on Vimy Ridge. But Vimy Ridge action is said to have concluded 2 weeks before - and one only sees notes around Canadian engagement. Can anyone point to me documentation which actually links any other than Canadian forces with this phase of the Western Front?
