User:Abaudie/Mood (psychology)
I noticed that Wikipedia recommended additional sources be added to the Etymology section of the article, so I found an article that expands on the etymology behind the word mood.
Under section 3, which is called "Factors which affect mood," I plan on adding a section titled " 3.5 Hormones". Hormonal balances and imbalances can play a huge role in determining someone's mood, so I saw this as a good opportunity to further expand this section of the article.
Also under section 3, I would like to further elaborate on 3.2 which discusses how environment effects someone's mood.
I linked a few articles to my article, Mood (psychology). I linked my article to two other articles (Positive psychology & Happiness). I also added an image to the article. I
This is the sandbox page where you will draft your initial Wikipedia contribution.
If you're starting a new article, you can develop it here until it's ready to go live. If you're working on improvements to an existing article, copy only one section at a time of the article to this sandbox to work on, and be sure to use an edit summary linking to the article you copied from. Do not copy over the entire article. You can find additional instructions here. Remember to save your work regularly using the "Publish page" button. (It just means 'save'; it will still be in the sandbox.) You can add bold formatting to your additions to differentiate them from existing content. |
Article Draft
[edit]The English word "mood" which means emotional condition or state of mind was originally derived from the Proto-Germanic root "moda-".[1]
An example of this is how direct exposure to sunlight has been proven to improve mood and has been used to treat symptoms of depression. [2][3]
Studies have also shown that depending on the season, temperature can regulate mood. [2]
Hormones
[edit]Hormones, which change with age, can also determine what type of mood someone is and how well they are able to regulate their moods.[4] Research indicates that as humans develop, the production of hormones, such as serotonin and dopamine, fluctuates and can cause changes in mood. For example, when the hormone serotonin gets released, a positive mood is often provoked. The older someone gets, the less likely they are to have "hormonal rushes", which means that they begin to experience more control over their moods and emotions.

Peer Review Response
[edit]I did not have any peer reviews to revise my draft, due to my late submission. I did not want to leave this part of the assignment completely undone, so I am trying to answer this accordingly. I am unsure if peer reviews are assigned to us or we assign them to ourselves, but I have been in contact with my group members so that I can have additional people review my work. I will complete revisions to my draft once there are reviews to base the revisions on.
