المحتوى هو مقالات وبعض صفحات التنقل Wikipedia, بدلا من administration pages مثل صفحات الكلام والمستخدم والصيانة. يتم تضمين المحتوى ضمن Main namespace.
كتابة المحتوى هو الهدف من عملية بناء ويكيبيديا، على الرغم من أنه من أجل القيام بذلك، هناك حاجة إلى صفحات في [wikipedia:NAMESPACE|namespaces]] أخرى.
التعريف التلقائي لمقال يستخدمه البرنامج في [Special:Statistics]] هو: "أي صفحة موجودة في مساحة اسم المقالة، ليست صفحة إعادة توجيه وتحتوي على رابط ويكي واحد على الأقل." المحتوى هو إذن صفحات المقالات وإعادة التوجيه والتوضيحات، وكلها موجهة للقارئ وليس للمحرر.
