I am a native speaker of English born in North America in 1970. I have lived on and off in France, Japan, and Turkey. I have a PhD from Harvard University in historical linguistics. I read dozens of dead languages with varying degrees of ease. Since 2003, I have researched and written the etymologies of a major North American dictionary. Since 2013, my research has focused on the history of Kurmanji, Zazaki, and Armenian in their Near Eastern context.
