The Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2018 is is an Indian legislation passed by the Lok Sabha on 30 July 2018, and by the Rajya Sabha on 06 August 2018, shall be deemed to have come into force on the 21st day of April, 2018, which provides for amendment of Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 The Act came into force on 21st day of April, 2018.The infamous Kathua rape case and the Unnao rape case triggered this demand and this gave birth to the amendment of 2018.
