Fatal Redemption is a mystery thriller by double-Pulitzer-Prize winner Lou Kilzer and co-author Mark Boyden. Set in Denver, Colorado, USA the crime novel follows the story of ambitious young journalist Sally Will as she hunts an unlikely killer. It is the first book in the forthcoming Sally Will series.

Plot[edit]

Protagonist Sally Will is a ruthless young reporter for the Chicago Tribune. When several mobsters (including a mafia top dog supposedly protected by the US Witness Protection Program) are picked off by an unknown assassin, Sally goes after the killer herself, stopping at nothing in pursuit of the perfect scoop. Brewing in the background are growing tensions between Russia and The White House, leading to undercover, retaliative attacks which threaten even the President himself. With her ex-FBI lover Lou Elliott by her side, Sally outsmarts the police, media and mafia in pursuit of the elusive hit-man - named only as 'Mr Wood' - risking life and love along the way.

Development history[edit]

Fatal Redemption and the Sally Will Series were more than 10 years in the making. Dreamed up over a game of backgammon at the Denver Press Club, Kilzer and Boyden (who met in Denver in 1997[3]) finally published their first book together in July 2014. Penned collaboratively between Kilzer's base in the US and Boyden's in the UK, Fatal Redemption draws on Kilzer's experience as an award-winning investigative journalist and Boyden's as an international business consultant. They are currently working on the second book in the series. Publication date: to be announced.
