William Ednie Rough (22 October 1892 - 19 February 1935) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Thomas Pringle Rough (24 July 1861 - 25 May 1937), a joiner from Kirkcaldy in Fife.
His mother was Ann Ednie (23 November 1861 - 16 November 1931) from Newton, Abbotshall in Fife. Thomas and Ann married on 24 December 1886 in Kirkcaldy.
William Ednie Rough was born on 22 October 1892 in Kirkcaldy.[3]
He married Barbara Hope Campbell Forster (23 January 1901 - 28 April 1982) from Leven in Fife. They married on 28 July 1927 in Edinburgh.

[edit]He died on 19 February 1935 in Edinburgh.[4] His usual address was then 43 Clermiston Road, Corstorphine, Edinburgh. The value of his estate was given as £1100, 3 shillings and 10 pence.
He is buried in Corstorphine Hill cemetery in Edinburgh.[5]
