Andrew Archer Gamley (1 June 1869 - 29 September 1949) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was Alexander Gamley (c.1832 - 1906), a butler from Barry in Forfarshire. He was a butler for the family of Major Thomas Taylor.
His mother was Fanny Vince Millar (c. 1839 - 1908) from Laurencekirk. Alexander and Fanny married on 22 May 1860 in Laurencekirk.
Andrew Archer Gamley was born on 1 June 1869 in Benholm, near Johnshaven, Kincardineshire.
His brother Harry Gamley was a sculptor.
