James Macmaster (10 March 1856 - 5 April 1913) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was David Macmaster (26 March 1804 - 8 May 1857), a draper from Catrine, Ayrshire.[8]

His mother was Jane Reid (15 November 1815 - 26 April 1868).[9] David and Jane married in Govan, Glasgow in November 1838.

James Kennedy Macmaster was born on 10 March 1856 at Catrine in Ayrshire.[10]

He married Euphemia Nicol (c. 1849 - 10 August 1914) from Cellardyke in Fife. They married in 25 June 1884 in St. Monans, Fife.
