BLP and the sordid history of Wikipeda

[edit]

There used to be a time, not now but after the BLP policy was initiated after the Seigenthaler incident, when Wikipedia administrators would still conspire to perpetrate BLP offenses. They would use administrative actions, including oppressively banning and blocking Wikipedia editors, who challenged them. These BLP offenses weren't necessarily ideological, though they tended to be biased against conservatives. Thankfully, that era of Wikipedia history is over, and Wikipedia is regaining the trust of the global public as a trustworthy source. BLP offenses now are not tolerated regardless of the subject. This is why I have finally decided to contribute to the project regularly.

In my opinion, BLP is the foundation for overall neutrality and trustworthiness of this project, though I don't think this assertion has ever been made officially. When BLP is applied strictly and uniformly to all subjects, articles wind up being of much better quality.
