History

[edit]

7:22 was founded in 1995 by Bill Willits and Louie Giglio. It started as a six week experiment in the Spring of 1995. Due to the success, it was permanently established in the Fall of 1995. The study was originally hosted at Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody, GA and was moved to North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA in 1998. Giglio continued on as the primary speaker until 2005 when he left to focus on other projects.[1]

Name

[edit]

The name is a reference to 2 Samuel 7:22 which states:

"How great You are O Sovereign Lord, there is no one like You and there is no God but You."
