Asocion is a web service for associations developed by Optinet Ltd. It is designed to help all kinds of associations lead and manage their everyday life more efficiently.
About Asocion[edit]
Asocion gives members a simple way to participate and offers tools for the key members to plan and enhance association's activities. Asocion is used on a web browser and it doesn't require special tech-knowledge or an installation to a computer. [1]
Asocion consists of three areas: Public Area, Member Area and Work Area. Public Area is the part of Asocion, which is always visible for every visitor on association's website. Member and Work Area are password-protected zones, where only the desired users have access to. Many users can also have the administration rights to the site, so the updating of the website can be distributed. These access rights are defined in Membership Tool and the layout of the website can be modified with Layout Tool. Asocion also includes other applications, e.g. Event Calendar, Form Tool, Poll and Discussion Forum, which are designed for the common needs of an association. [2]
Asocion includes a two-month trial period. The use of Asocion during the trial is free, and the trial period doesn't include any commitments. The order can be made straight from the editing view of user's website. [3]
Users of Asocion have different kinds of support options available. They can post, comment or vote for ideas on Asocion IdeaLab. Web Instructions are made for small questions arising from the use of Asocion. Every user getting the trial version also gets a Starting Package, which includes some advice about getting started with Asocion. [4]
Asocion History[edit]
The project aiming to the worldwide release of Asocion was initiated by Optinet Ltd's CEO Ismo Paananen [5] in early 2010 and the product was first released as a beta version in June 2010. It was designed on the grounds of its Finnish sister product Yhdistysavain, which is designed for Finnish associations and has approximately 2000 associations as users.
