Hello,

My name is Alexander V. Kel'in. I am a professional organic chemist with 16+ years of professional experience. I have defended my PhD thesis at the Belarussian State University (advisor, Prof. O.G. Kulinkovich), where I also worked as an assistant and associate professor.

My scientific interests are in the field of the development of versatile and regioselective synthetic approaches to complex thiophene and pyrrole oligomers that may be used in organic electronics, nanotechnology, as biologically active compounds and other applications.

I continued my work at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I worked for 2 years as a visiting researcher to pursue the development of novel and robust synthetic approaches to selectively substituted pyrroles and furans. For the last 6 years I have been working as a senior scientist and then a group leader at GLSynthesis Inc.

Currently, I am interested not only in the chemistry but also in the physics of organic compounds used in electronic devices and keep myself abreast of the latest news and developments of this exiting field of science and technology. Part of my work is summarized in publications:
