THE ALLEYCATS 1968-TILL NOW...

ABOUT MUSIC JOURNEY : Alleycats was formed in 1960's with 6 member in the group. Lead vocal by Loga Arumugam & David Arumugam,main guitar by Shum Arumugam,Bass by Frank wong,Keyboard by Khoo Fook Sin & Saxaphone by Chester. At first,they just a regular performer in wedding & school functions.But later on,the Alleycats name was began famous as times goes by. Alleycats first big crowd experince started when they offer to performe in Penang well known Pub.Later they are invited to play occasionally in Penang town and also other big state such as Kuala Lumpur,Johore and so on. Apart from performing in local,in Malaysia,the alleycats also invited to perform in other countries.So the journey began... They went to Singapore in 1978.The list continue,when they sign contract in one of the famous pub in Hong Kong.Later they went to perform Brunei,Sabah & Sarawak and the last ones,in London.

ABOUT ALBUM : The Alleycats went to Singapore in 1978 to produce their first album.Alleycats first album is an English album.Album title was 'Terima Kasih'.But this English album didn't do well in Malaysia,but in Singapore it was super hit.From that album,singles caled 'JUN' well received by the audions.Later,Mr Eric Yeo ,Producer (from Polygram) suggest to the Alleycats to try Malay album.For the first time, it's difficult for them to sing Malay numbers,because they not realy understand the language!but of cource they would like to try..for them Music is Universal! With the help of Wan Ibrahim & M.Nasir,the Alleycats went to records their first album at Lion Studio,Singapore in 1979.Alleycats first album title 'Terima Kasih' (Thank you).It went very well.Not only in Malaysia,also in Singapore,Brunei,Indonesia Etc.

Today,in '2009',the Alleycats still active performing in clubs and still producing album,eventhough some bad thing has happened in the group which i discribe as a 'nighmare'.
