Stacy-Ann Dannalee Whylie (born August 29, 1991) known professionally as Stassi August is an ignited singer/songwriter and Entrepreneur, having roots in the paradisiac parish of Portland, Jamaica. Later on in her teenage years she moved to the Kingston city for a life of overflowing opportunities. Stassi’s passion for performance started at basic school where she did Louise Bennet Poems and continued this trend up to primary school level. She also sang on her church choir and got involved in everything as it relates to performing arts. This is when she fell in love with music, discovering that she could not stop dancing whenever she heard a beat.
Stassi August’s singing career really started when she followed her friend to an audition and the choir director heard her singing. The rest as they say is history or probably destiny.
Stassi’s musical background includes representing her high school on TVJ’s All Together Sing and being involved in the University of the West Indies Pop Society for her first year in college. She was also one of the lead singers of a start up band that ended prematurely.
After a couple of years break from music, Stassi August is back to share her antique voice blended with magnificent modern marvel creating Reggae Fusion (as she calls it) and Pop Music and since then released singles like Stronger, Hello Happiness and a modern day remake of Dennis Brown’s Money in my pocket and many more to come.
