I am currently a BSN to PhD student who has also chosen to pursue my Master's Degree in Nursing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am originally from a small town in central Wisconsin and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2010. During my undergraduate program, I was a member of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars program where I was introduced to nursing research involving military wives during deployments. That experience sparked my interest in nursing research and solidified my passion for working with military families and those with mental health issues. My research interests are currently focused on children and adolescents in military families and their coping and adaptations to stressors. Another related research interest is resilience and resilience fatigue. I plan to create a career in teaching and research and am passionate about advancing the profession of nursing.
