Lord Amareshwara is shiva's Prana Linga, AhiRavana meditated on Lord shiva after that Ahiravana asked to Lord shiva I want your Prana Linga, Lord shiva Blessed him and given his Prana Linga With one condition Dont keep it on earth, He is going back to Sri Lanka with Lord shiva's prana linga via Raichur(Dist),karnataka,India. its already night, he slept there keeping prana linga on his stomach by mistakenly he turned so that prana linga fell down on earth there only but Ahiravana tried to take back but that prana linga's base reached the patala loka from there pure water is came out, he tried many time but he failed at last He named as Amareshwara and went back to sri lanka. This incident has happened before Ramayana, AhiRavana is a little brother of Ravana's Mother. After this Ravana also brought Lord shiva's Atma Linga but he also not succeded. both also went empty to srilanka. Lord Amareshwara temple is 20km from Lingasur taluk,Raichur(dist)Karnataka.10km from Hatti gold mines.
