About Amber[edit]
"When you focus on your problems, you'll have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you'll have more opportunities."-Unknown. I think that quote pretty much sums me up right off the bat.
I am an incredibly optimistic human being. Although, I tend to be a worry wart so you could imagine I'm rather interesting. I am the youngest of two girls from my parents. My sister is the devil and we rarely get along, yet she is always the first person that I call when I have a bad day. Life hasn't always been easy. I had somewhat of a troubled childhood, but through wonderful extended family, that all turned around for me.
I graduated high school in the upper percentile of my class and I know attend Upike as an aspiring dentist. I don’t have a lot of family so most of what I own or have accomplished it has been through sheer perseverance and the desire to be a better person. I came to Upike on a wonderful scholarship opportunity and I maintained a 3.2 GPA for my first semester.
I think I suffer from severe naiveity(a disease I created and diagnosed myself with.) I believe that all people in the world are wonderful until I meet them and they give me good reason to believe other wise. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but if you really make me mad then I am a professional grudge holder. I do my best to be the best and make the best out of every situation. I truly strive to be the best that I can be. I fall short of that goal often, after all I am just a girls I have the most terrible luck in all the universe. If something can go wrong in the world, it will absolutely go wrong for me. Unfortunate things are always happening to me. Whether it is hitting myself in the head with my car door, loosing all the money I have on my wallet, or falling down an entire flight of stairs.
My absolute favorite thing in this world is food. I am at my happiest place when I have a big steak and baked potato in front of me. I truly enjoy reading. My favorite things to read are romance books and I’m really into scary, mystery books. Even though the scary books give me terrifying nightmares. I love to watch TV.I mainly watch Criminal Minds, Law and Order SVU, and anything on HGTV or Disney. Spiders are a huge fear of mine. When I lay down at night, I cram my comforter into the crack between my mattress and the wall so the spiders can’t get me. I strongly dislike it when people make fun of other people or ridicule others. I was always that kid in school sticking up for the kids that were picked on. I believe equality is such an important thing in life. I don’t really have any extraordinary talents or anything cool like that. I’m a very average human, but I have a very interesting mind full of wonderful thoughts.

Technology and I[edit]
I am not very technologically savvy. I can use my iPad and my iPhone and that's about it. I hate computers. I hate all computer programs. I can use word with a decent amount of background knowledge. I have had some experience with Excel but other than those two programs, I haven’t ever used very many computer programs. I have never been good with technology. I feel like it has made our generation so lazy. I don’t think my opinion with technology is a very positive one. I feel like computer programmers are constantly trying to improve and correct things when the way I see it is, don’t fix something that isn’t broken. Don’t get me wrong, technology is a very useful thing and it has helped our world today so much! I do support technology I just don’t think us as every day people need to rely on it as much as we do. Without technology, our society would struggle today. Look around and everyone you see has their some sort of technology attached to them. Maybe I am a young girl stuck in the stone ages though .I do, however, plan to increase my technology skills just because it is pretty much a necessity for today's world. I want to increase my skills in this area and be able to use more programs without being dependent on technology. That is my goal.
My Opinion of Wikipedia[edit]
I find Wikipedia to be very helpful. I use Wikipedia almost daily. It is such and easy way to get a quick definition or find some easy facts about anything I need to know. I love that it is such and extensive encyclopedia. I do find Wikipedia hard to use when actually writing for or trying to understand the publishing process. I would like to see some guidelines enforced to ensure a publishers credibility. I do not like that just any average joe can contribute to wikipedia. I feel like Wikipedia is truly a genius invention! It helps probably millions of people on a daily basis! Since I am currently an actual Wikipedia user, in the sense I have my own page, I have found it be a little confusing and maybe hard to use. It is getting easier though. I have always known Wikipedia to have many pros, but I think my insight into Wikipedia now has really furthered the list of pros opposed to cons. There is always room for improvement. I think that there could be easier ways to edit and create things but that is rather minor. Over all, I personally do not have many complaints about Wikipedia and I think it such a useful tool.
