Dear readers!
[edit]Born in 1999 and raised in the large city of Braunschweig, a historic city that was founded in 861 AD in Germany[1], my curiosity, adventurism and desire for discovery brought me to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. More precisely, after finishing High School, I moved to Montreal, New York’s little sister as they say.
As part of the course "Technologies and collaborative work" offered at the University of Montreal, I created my own Wikipedia account. Indeed, I had to work on a project in order to contribute to the enrichment of the content of this platform. I invested myself in this work, obviously in order to obtain a good grade, but above all, because it was for me, the opportunity to get acquainted with the philosophy and the operation of Wikipedia and to have been able to give my modest contribution to this collective encyclopaedia by writing not only in English, but also in French and German.
In addition, it is important to me to extend the content that Wikipedia offers. The encyclopedia providing me with information for several years now and from a more global point of view, it is also consulted by millions of people every day and around the world. The English philosopher Francis Bacon once said "the true power is knowledge"[2]. In my opinion, it is up to us to transmit this power to the new generations, because from now on, thanks to globalization, all doors are open to us!
