From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In this page my aim is to tell a little about the in which I suggest one could record meteors using simple and cheap gear. to my knowledge this has not yet been done, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The idea to listen to meteors using FM is not new but mostly done with amateur radio equipment, but I attempt to do it with a simple setup.

I got the Idea to try and do it from thees sites: an Israeli science site: http://www.hayadan.org.il/wp/perseid-radio-astronomy-12080910/

by which I read in this page: http://www.tvcomm.co.uk/radio/ there you can find lots more information.

the analyzer program I used can be found at: http://wareseeker.com/download/frequency-analyzer-2.0.rar/290121

This is the set up I used:

The setup I used, to the right is the radio which is connected to the computer's sound card, the microphone heads are on the computer. A sound analyzer program is shown when the radio is set to a classical music station. The upper part shows the current measured, the lower one is the FFT of It.

I have not had a chance yet to listen to meteors with it. hopefully this will change soon.
