It's sometimes said that politics are like sausages - it is best not to know how they are made. The same can sometimes be said of Wikipedia.
Tug of war
[edit]Articles on topics regarding which one or more highly biased and contentious "sides" exist frequently fall prey to a form of tug of war among the biased sides themselves as well as any less biased editors, assuming any bother taking part. It has never been demonstrated that this process leads to articles of high quality. Yet the Wikipedia community has never managed to come to together to stop it. Consequently, some newer editors even think that it is the norm by which articles are supposed to be created. This is erroneous as it flies in the face of the WP:BATTLEGROUND policy.
