My first intro to wiki-editing was through the 2021 Wikipedia Edit-a-thon to Promote Gender Equity in Ocean Science that was being held as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) [https://www.oceandecade-conference.com/en/ That event aimed to bridge the digital gender gap in ocean science, recognizing that women and non-binary individuals are under-represented in ocean science and their accomplishments are even less represented, in both print media and online.

I am a Senior Science Advisor at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). I have a Masters of Science in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry from Carleton University and more than 20 years of federal government experience that includes conducting scientific research, providing science advice, and bridging the science-policy interface.
