Andries Aldrich - Baritone

Andries Aldrich - was born in 1994 in the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa.

Andries is the yougest of four children of his parents Nico & Heleen Aldrich. Andries was born into a musical family, his one grandmother was a Pianist and the other a classical guitarist. His sister Susan Aldrich 1977-1997 was also a great pianist who encouraged Andries from a very young age to learn to play piano. Unfortunately Susan Aldrich died tragically in a car crash in 1997.

At the age of 7 Andries starts piano lessons in Hoedspruit. And continued with lessons for 10 years. But due to Hoedspruit being a small town with limited resources he could not continue with piano lessons.

2013 the Aldrich family moved to Brakpan, Gauteng and Andries started piano lessons with Mr.Attie Kok and studied for 2 years with Mr. A. Kok. In 2016 Andries started piano lessons with Susan Swanepoel one of South Africa's best pianists and acompanists.

Although piano was a great interest for Andries, his true passion for music is in Opera.

"I always knew about opera but i never really took notice of it until 2010. I heard a recording of the South African Opera Diva Mimi Coertse where she performed Der Hölle Rache from Die Zauberflote by W.A.Mozart and when I heard the control Mimi has over her voice the sound she was able to produce, I knew that, that is what I want to do." - Andries Aldrich

Aldrich started classical sining training with Mr. Attie Kok in 2014.

Aldrich made his debut in Brakpan 26 November 2015. It was a huge success. Aldrich has since then organized opera concerts in the East Rand to great success and he has been performing with some of South Africa's best Opera Singers.
