Onaapo[edit]

Onaapo pronounced "O-na-poh" (or more appropriately onaapo, "you won't get") is a popular Ghanaian term used to describe persistent joy and celebration of the victory of the new elected president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 election in Ghana. Election song of the party in power thus the National Democratic Congress as at 2016 taken by all Ghanaians especially by the winning party thus the New Patriotic Party.

The term is derived from a song sung by the National Democratic Congress from the Ga Adamgbe,(a language spoken widely in Ghana) after Twi of the Akan. so the term roughly translates as "you won't get".In the song "Mahamah, Onaapo", when you mention the name of the presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama then you respond Onaapo.
