Hayk Karoyi Karapetyan

Hayk Karoyi Karapetyan (Armenian: Հայկ Կարոյի Կարապետյան) (born 16 March 1992 in Yerevan, Armenia) is a Musician, Composer, Multi-instrumentalist of Armenian descent.

Hayk plays Armenian national woodwind instruments (duduk, zurna, shvi, blul, pku, Armenian bagpipe), saxophone, soprano saxophone and electro pads.

Hayk Karoyi Karapetyan has released two solo Albums. First one called "After Our Era" which was released in December of 2015 and the second Album "Yerevan, the city of inspirations" in December of 2017.

From 2008 to 2012 studied in Yerevan State Conservatory.

Hayk had participated in many regional festivals, TV Shows, competitions and took the awards.

In 2010 Hayk Karapetyan became a finalist of new music project of Shant TV, "Duduk's new talents" (Armenian: Դուդուկի նոր ընտրյալները).

In 2010 Hayk joined Norayr Qartashyan’s “Van Project” band and performed there till 2013.

In 2011 Hayk founded his first own music project called “Room 118”. It was ethno-jazz-rock band, the purpose of which was to take out the national instruments from the ethnic format.

After Conservatory graduation, Hayk Karoyi Karapetyan was serving in RA National Army from 2012 to 2014. On winter of 2014, after coming back home Hayk founded his second project called “GOGHT” the content of which are Armenian National woodwind instruments, piano, percussion, cello and tar. The mission of this band is to brake the genre stereotypes regarding those instruments by presenting their own music in which they use ethnical and classical “sounds” without framing those.

The project received many positive feedbacks in motherland and abroad. It has participated in several local and international festivals. “GOGHT” already has 3 video clips and now is working on first album.

In 2015 Hayk released his first solo album “After our Era”. It contains ethnical, author’s and also his own pieces. All compositions are presented by national instruments.

From 2010 Hayk Karoyi Karapetyan is cooperating with “PLAYBACK” Production and it’s founder Narek Petrosyan (Narek Mets Hayq).

In 2015 Hayk also Founded his 3rd music project “Zurnachiner” (Zurna players), which is presenting pure national music and the mission of it is to have an impact on the renaissance of the best traditions of Armenian national music.

In 2016 Hayk started an exclusive music project with BeatMan (Bagrat Terteryan) called “HtwoB”. The project generates the great interest from all over the world because of its exclusive content.
