Introduction[edit]
Hi, I am Angelica de la Rosa and I am a student in the Hotel and Food Administration program at the University of Guelph. Come Fall 2011, I will be entering my final (with all fingers crossed) year of my undergraduate studies.
Personal Life[edit]
I was born Friday the thirteenth of 1990 in Mississauga, Ontario[1]- a small suburb outside of Toronto. My parents, Rolando and Gilda de la Rosa, had immigrated to Canada from the Philippines just four months prior to my birth. When I was younger, I always wanted to go to culinary school to fulfill my passion for cooking and food. It has become apparent, however, that the more I go through my undergraduate studies, this dream becomes less visible. Instead, my ambition for post-graduation life is to have my own restaurant business with my father.
Schooling[edit]
I attended St. Thomas More Catholic School for my elementary education life, where I began my 'Extended French' program at the tender age of 10. I continued the Extended French program at St. Aloysius Gonzaga C.S.S[2] until the end of high school. All of that hard French work went to waste upon my enrollment at the University of Guelph as I was not able to take any elective in my first year of university.
Hobbies[edit]
In my spare time, or as a reason to procrastinate from school work, I enjoy doing the following:
- cook for family and friends
- dining at new establishments
- surfing the Internet
- taking pictures with my DSLR
My Favorite Dishes[edit]
I am not a picky eater by any means, but my top three favorite foods are:
- Sushi
- Vietnamese Pho Soup
- Indian Butter Chicken
