Melanie Diamantas (April 22 - 1958) is a Brazilian screenwriter that was born in the city of São Paulo. In the year of 1980, she graduated in Social Ciences by the University of São Paulo (USP) and later on as a History and Geography teacher. Diamantas is known for being co-author in the iconic Brazilian movie "Carlota Joaquina" (1995), with the filmmaker Carla Camurati. She is also know for the script of the movie "I Don't Want to Talk About It Now" (1991), writed with Maurício Farias. This movie won the prize of best script in the Gramado Film Festival, the most importants festivals of cinema in Brazil.
Nowadays, Melanie Diamantas is resident in the city of Rio de Janeiro and, besides the work as a screenwriter, she also teaches Screenwriting in the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio), in the Cinema Course.
