Thomas Max Wheelwright (born October 26, 1957) is an American businessman, certified public accountant, and author.[1] Wheelwright is the founder and CEO of WealthAbility, LLC.[2] a private financial education company that teaches the principles of tax-savings and wealth-building through speaking engagements.[3], books.[4], and videos.[5].
Early life and career
[edit]Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Wheelwright's first exposure to accounting came during his teens while working at his father's printing company Wheelwright Lithographing Company, where his mother was the controller.
From 1983-present, Wheelwright has developed tax, business and wealth strategies for small-business owners and investors in the manufacturing, real estate and high-tech fields. Wheelwright founded ProVision, PLCThomas Wheelwright & Company (now Wheelwright Manahan, PLLC) in 1995 in Tempe, Arizona. Wheelwright Manahan and its predecessors have served more than 103,000 small business clients in more than 30 countries. Wheelwright is a global speaker on tax and wealth strategies for small businesses and investors. Wheelwright has been a keynote speaker at Rich Dad conferences on six continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America) with Robert Kiyosaki (Author, "Rich Dad Poor Dad"). In his presentations, Wheelwright stressed his belief that, “The tax laws in every country are first and foremost a series of incentives for business owners and investors and reflect that country’s policies towards energy and economic development.” In Robert Kiyosaki's book, "The Real Book of Real Estate"(December 2016), Wheelwright was the author of Chapters 1 and 21. Wheelwright also contributed to Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Success Stories"(2003), "Who Took My Money"(2004) and his recently released "Unfair Advantage"(2011). Wheelwright is currently a contributor to Entrepreneur Magazine as a tax expert. For 14 years (1995 - 2008), Wheelwright served as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Tax program at Arizona State University where he created the course for teaching multi-state tax planning techniques and personally taught hundreds of graduate students. Wheelwright currently teaches his own Advanced Tax and Asset Protection class along with Garrett Sutton, Esq. Through WealthAbility, Wheelwright teaches CPAs and other tax advisors how to improve the cash flow in their business, how to provide better tax consulting and wealth strategy services to their clients and how to work fewer hours while being more productive. Wheelwright has lauded efforts to the 2017 TCJA that reduced the U.S. corporate income tax rate, stating "If we had a 15With a 21 percent corporate tax rate, we would effectively become a tax shelter country, encouraging foreign companies to headquarter here and returning jobs to the U.S." From 1985-1988, Wheelwright developed and led professional training for thousands of CPAs at the Ernst & Whinney (now EY) National Tax Department in Washington, D.C., during which the last overhaul of the tax code, the Tax Reform Act of 1986 was advanced and signed by President Ronald Reagan.

He also launched PLA Software, LLC, in 2019 to create financial education and tax strategy software for entrepreneurs and investors. Donald Trump selected Wheelwright to contribute to his Wealth BuildersProgram in 2009.
Education
[edit]Wheelwright has a master's of Professional Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a specialty in Tax and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in accounting and a minor in French from the University of Utah.
Personal life
[edit]Wheelwright is married to Louanne T. Gagnon since May 1, 2015. He has two sons, Max David and Samuel Joseph Wheelwright. Wheelwright resides in Chandler, Arizona. Donald Trump selected Wheelwright to contribute to his Wealth BuildersProgram in 2009.
