The Centrale Sevens is an international Rugby Sevens tournament organized by the students of the engineering school CentraleSupélec, in which national teams, developing teams and high level teams play against each other. It was organized for the first time in 2004. The players are mostly accomodated by the school’s students.

History[edit]

In 2005, six students of the school Centrale Paris launched the ambitious project to bring in the school’s Campus the best university teams in the world[1]. Twelve men’s teams, which include five non-French squad, were part of the event[1].

In 2016, 22 teams representing 14 different nationalities, coming from 4 continents, took part in the event.

2019 Edition[edit]

The Centrale Sevens 2019 was played in the municipal stadium of Orsay the 8th and 9th of May. The men’s tournament was won the Racing 92, and the women’s was won by the Springbok 7's[2][3][4][5].
