Background[edit]
Logan is the only son of Mitchum and Shira Huntzberger (Portrayed by Gregg Henry and Leann Hunley). He was born in February of 1982 and is the heir to his father's national newspaper company, "Huntzberger Publishing Company." The creation of the Huntzberger family was inspired by the New York Times publishing family, the Sulzberger's. Logan has a tense and distant relationship with his father. Mitchum sees Logan as a commodity or business plan rather than a son. His mother also has expectations of her own. She wants Logan to marry a trophy wife from a wealthy family, even though she does not come from money herself. In addition, Logan has an older sister named Honor, who does not experience the same pressure as Logan due to her gender, mainly because of the old-fashioned minds of Mitchum and Shira. They assume it is Logan's duty as the only boy to carry on the Huntzberger name.
Logan grew up knowing the future his father had prepared for him, which shaped his reckless and go-with-the-flow personality. Logan did not want to grow up to live the life his father planned for him because he had dreams of his own. As a result, Logan attended many prestigious preparatory boarding schools such as St. Mark's, Rivers, Andover and Groton, where he reveals that he was kicked out for reckless behaviour and pranks.
Character[edit]
Logan is a charming, intelligent, flirty rich boy from an old-money family. He first appears as a traditional playboy and ladies' man who is more interested in partying and having fun rather than studying and thinking about his future. However, Logan is very well-read and versed in literature and pop culture as he adapts well to any environment he is put in due to his extroverted personality. Due to his wealthy upbringing, Logan spent most of his life travelling, is a risk-taker and enjoys heavy drinking.
Although Logan seems to have it all together and lives the picture-perfect life with the picture-perfect family, he experienced a life of mistreatment from his parents. Due to the strict and planned-out future, Logan's parents have for him, he resents his father and attempts to deny the Huntzberger future, which does not work out.
Towards the end of the series, Logan's father forces him to move to England after his graduation to work for the family business. He unwillingly says goodbye to his girlfriend of many years, Rory. However, once Logan returns from his first business trip he matures and realizes the security that his planned-out life offers, and leaves his immature ways behind.
Series Arc[edit]
Logan met Rory Gilmore during his third year attending Yale. Logan and Rory both worked at the Yale Daily News, where Logan was positioned as one of the head writers who did not show up unless he felt like it. Logan and Rory's friendship began after he started referring to her as "Ace" because she wanted to be a reporter. It later became a term of endearment and her nickname once they began dating.
The first encounter between Logan and Rory was when he and his friends passed by her and her friend Marty[1]. During this encounter, Logan's friends tease Marty about being the bartender at one of Logan's parties and pay no attention to Rory. However, a few days pass, and Rory meets Logan again in the hallway of her dorm. She takes the opportunity to lecture Logan about how he treats those "less than him" and continues to debate the importance of treating everyone with respect and his ability to remember people, as he initially did not remember meeting Rory. Logan sarcastically promises Rory that he will never forget her and will be kinder to others in the future. Rory is left with a bad impression of Logan, viewing him as a typical rich playboy.
Their relationship flourishes after Rory desperately enlists Logan's help on an article about a secret society amongst elite Yale students called the Life and Death Brigade.[2] Logan agrees to help as he is a member of the society. He takes Rory to a secret event planned in the woods, and through that event, Rory becomes fascinated with Logan and realizes there is more to him than a wealthy playboy and that she was quick to judge him. Logan teaches Rory the importance of taking risks in life by convincing her to jump with him off of a high scaffolding with an umbrella, creating trust between them.

Logan and Rory's Relationship: Despite Rory being his first serious relationship, Logan treated her unlike the others in her life. Logan always treated her like an adult and opened her eyes to the privilege in her life and how they are not as different as she makes them out to be.
Rory and Logan began a "no strings attached" relationship after Rory confessed her feelings towards him, which Logan admitted he liked her too but was not a commitment guy. After they began a casual relationship, Rory decided the relationship was too much for her and that she could not continue with the casual dating life. However, Logan did not want to lose Rory as he developed stronger feelings and cared about her more than any girl he had been with in the past. So he decided to have a committed monogamous relationship with her.
Rory and Logan began dating in season 5. They broke up in season 7 after Rory rejected his marriage proposal after her graduation ceremony in the episode titled "Unto the BreachThe beginning and end of their relationship were symbolic as they met in the courtyard at Yale her second year and said goodbye at her graduation after denying his proposal.
Although Rory and Logan did not get married, they continued having an affair in the revival "A Year in the Life" nine years later. Rory and Logan had a "Vegas" affair where they met up when they were in the same city despite Logan being engaged to Odette and Rory in a relationship of her own.
The 4 part revival series ends off with Logan and Rory officially saying goodbye, but then Rory discovered she was pregnant with the chances of the baby being Logan's very possible.
