Unnikrishnan Muthukulam

Unnikrishnan Muthukulam (Born 28 June 1965) is an Indian Malayalam poet.He is one of the proponents of modern style of prose in Malayalam poetry. He is born in Muthukulam, Alappuzha district and is working as a Government school Head Master at Haripad.

Biography

Unnikrishnan started writing when Malayalam Literature was in the Era of Modernity. His works stood out for its fusion of tradition and modernity. The soul elements of his work included social experiments then practiced in the society which gave key importance to Kerala culture as well as traditional Art forms. One of his better known works are "Ezhuthan Pattatha Chilathu" (Things that cant be written) "Chuvappu Rasi" (Red gathering)."Nammude Kalakal" (Our Art Forms) and "Keraleeya Kalakal" (Art Forms of Kerala) are the two books which explained briefly the traditional as well as modern art and cultures of kerala, which was a helping hand for easy reference made by students. Works focusing on children include "Madhura Kadhakal" published by National Book Stall (NBS) Kottayam, "Deepavumayi Ozhuki Vanna Penkutty" published by Global Books and "Vaadamalarukal"
