Born in Oakland, California in 1957, Mark Nelson traveled abroad with his family for decades only to return to Chicago and establish a permanent residence and art studio. One of his larger works, an 18 foot wide mural on canvas is part of the permanent art collection of the U.S. State Department's embassy and consulate located in the Republic of Panama. Additionally Nelson had=s earned the respect and recognition as a formidable instructor of the arts with the inner city of Chicago.
