U.S. Kids Golf is a company based in Norcross, Georgia that produces youth golf equipment, apparel and accessories. Founded in 1997 by Dan Van Horn, U.S. Kids Golf offers two lines of junior golf equipment: ULTRALIGHT and TOUR SERIES. In 2001, the company established the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The mission of the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation is "to provide kids and their families the opportunity to participate in the game of golf through instruction and competition."

History[edit]

In 1997, U.S. Kids Golf Founder Dan Van Horn was having trouble getting his children into golf. He found that the clubs they were playing with were too heavy, so he created clubs that were 25% lighter than adult clubs. These clubs, called Ultralight Kidsklubs, were the first creation of U.S. Kids Golf.

TOUR SERIES[edit]

In 2007, U.S. Kids Golf introduced TOUR SERIES, a step between its Ultralight series and adult clubs. TOUR SERIES clubs, which fit youngsters ranging from 51" to 63" tall, customize every aspect of the golf club for a young golfer.

Tournaments[edit]

The first U.S. Kids Golf tournament was the 2000 World Championship at Jekyll Island Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Ga. Now in its 12th year, the World Championship features over 1200 competitors from around the world. In 2007, a Teen World Championship was added. The World and Teen World Championship, both currently played in Pinehurst, N.C., are among over 500 tournaments run by U.S. Kids Golf.

Play & Learn[edit]

U.S. Kids Golf's Play & Learn initiatives began with the Family Course in 2000. The Family Course creates sets of tees for kids from appropriate yardages. Golf courses may build customs scorecards for kids using Level 1 and Level 2 tees.
