1. I believe in the inherent goodness of man which implies as a corollary good faith with people who on the face of it (and until proven otherwise) are carrying out activities that are meant to improve WMF open collaboration projects, typically Wikipedia. Hence I support A2K and will provide whatever little help I can in form of discussion, advice etc. Typically I also play the role of Devil's Advocates on some issues of causes I care about, such as Wikipedia and A2K.

2. I often do not/may not agree with objectives, methodology, certain practices and violation of core Wikipedia principles of A2K. I usually communicate this if they are not minor. I only object to those things which I feel personally are wrong or could be done better.

3. My interaction with A2K comprises :-

  • Telephone calls with members at the beginning of the A2K project.
  • Interaction with Vishnu & Subhashish during a dinner meeting in their visit to Kolkata early this year.
  • Interaction with Vishnu, Subhashish etc and other Wikipedians on Facebook groups & mailing lists.
  • Discussions on meta.

4. I have no official link with A2K in any capacity. I have had dinner with Vishnu (who paid for it) and a Wikipedia 2013 model black & white "I edit Wikipedia" T-shirt from them at my request.

5. Things I usually discuss :-

  • Lessons learnt from the past.
  • Best practices.
  • Ways to go about doing things.
  • Need for increased participation of experienced Wikipedians in the process of A2K.
