The statement我哋真係好撚鍾意香港（ngo5 dei6 zan1 hai6 hou2 lan2 zung1 ji3 hoeng1 gong2）was first publicized in the Hong Kong 1 July Marches in 2020.
Superficially the statement simply means we love Hong Kong so very much. The 6th character撚, pronounced as “lan2” or “nan2”, is a swearword in Cantonese. It functions here as
1. an emphasis showing the morale and resilience of the people of Hong Kong as a community as a declaration to brave it;
2. an irony to indicate the eagerness to stay in Hong Kong despite whining about the high costs of living as well as to suggest a compliance to Fate;
3. an affirmation not to abandon Hong Kong instead to save our city state from evildoers for launching the Hong Kong national security law, but at the same time an implication of worries and anxiety because of uncertainty.
The statement我哋真係好撚鍾意香港 has received recognitions among media and celebrities.
