The Metals is a footpath from Dún Laoghaire to Dalkey beside the railway. The path was origally used for a truck railway which was used to transport granite from Dalkey Quarry to Dún Laoghaire to build the harbour.[1][2] Over 600,000 tonnes of granite were brought to the harbour works by this route.[2]
It is part of the Slí na Sláinte project.[3]
