Awet Teame, the Comedienne and Actress, was born in Dekemhare, Eritrea on June 10, 1975. She left Eritrea at age three and moved to Italy with her mother Alem Tesfazion where they lived for two years. She and her mother then moved to Boston, MA where she was raised. Attended Trotter Elementary School, where she began acting in her favorite teacher's class Mr. Adam Artis. Then later attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, elected Senior Class President and graduated in 1994. A few months later started her higher education at The George Washington University, after two years transferred to UMass Boston for a semester, then finally, graduated from Emerson College with a BA degree in Visual and Media Arts/TV.

Moved to Los Angeles to start her career in stand-up and acting. She has performed on all the main comedy stages in Los Angeles, including the The Laugh Factory, The World Famous Comedy Store, Ice House, Comedy Union, The J Spot, Flappers Comedy Club Burbank and Claremone, The Improv and more.... Awet then decided to expand her bounders and travel perform on comedy stages in other cities such as, such as the San Francisco Punch Line, Seattle Underground, Philadelphia's Helium Club, Detroit's Mark Ridley's, a few bars in Las Vegas, Boston's Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Vault and The Comedy Studio in Harvard Sq.

In 2013, Awet started International Nations Stand-up (I.N.S.), a comedy company with her friend and Comedian/Author Yuri Kagan that Head Lines comedians with a diverse ethic/religious backgrounds such as herself and Yuri.

She made her reality television debut on Seeing Stars" a reality show about hypnosis on the TV Guide Channel then Total Blackout, a comedy game show on the Syfy Channel, where she was such a hit on her first episode that she was asked to return on an All Star episode the following season.

Today she's living in Boston where she was recently cast as the Lead Female in Les Feministes," in the 2013 48 Hour Boston Film Festival.
