DR Syntax

Dr Syntax Dr Syntax, real name "Ben Hughes", is a British rapper who is very prominent on the UK hip hop scene. Since first appearing on the track "Glacial" on the 2003 album "Asylum Speakers", which was the debut album from acclaimed London hiphop crew Foreign Beggars under the Dented Records label, He has featured on various tracks across every subsequent album they have released, as well as joining them on many of their live shows on tour. His debut album, Self Taught, was released in 2008 on the "Beer and Rap" label, and was met with acclaim from many British hip hop publications and websites. He has since released a collaborative album with fellow UK artist Skrein, collectively known as Skreintax, called Scene Stealers, and in late 2010 he released his second album "Benny Huge", both of which were also released on the Dented Records label. He has collaborated with many other UK hip hop artists, such as Stig of the Dump, with whom he also lived fro a number of years, Wordsmith, Enlish and Koaste among others, and is also a member of several other musical collectives such as Imagineers, The Mouse Outfit, and also Brighton based crew The Menagerie, whose 2005 album "Wild Kingdom" features him heavily. He currently lives in Manchester.
