Mike Makamba (born 26 June 1991) is a Zimbabwean Police Officer, upcoming poet and storyteller. Makamba currently has interests in the agricultural and stock investment.

Makamba is married to Silinganiso Nkomo, daughter of Nhlanhla Nkomo and Shamiso Svondo, in December 2021. The two have a daughter Karren C. Makamba.

Makamba was born at Mukosa Rural District Clinic in the Rushinga District of Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia). Makamba was the second youngest of seven children of Ninepence 'Runesu' Makamba and Geniya Makamba. He had two brothers Toiteyi 'Colly' and Simbarashe and four sisters Tadzirayi, Stellah, Rimurayi and Qiutness (last born). Makamba has also a half-sisters Regina whom she shared the same father.

Makamba attended the Mukosa Primary School from 1998 to 2004 and Chapinduka Secondary School from 2005 to 2008 and then one of his older brothers, Toteyi 'Colly', invited him to live with his family in Mabvuku, Harare, where he finished his ordinary and advanced level.

Career

After completing his advanced level in 2012, he enlisted with the Zimbabwe Republic Police Service in 2013. He then received a promotion to the rank of a Sergeant in 2020.
