Nomination Criteria

[edit]

G10

Pages that serve no purpose but to disparage or threaten their subject or some other entity (e.g., "John Q. Doe is an imbecile"). These are sometimes called "attack pages". This includes legal threats, and may also include a biography of a living person that is entirely negative in tone and unsourced, where there is no neutral version in the page history to revert to. Administrators deleting such pages should not quote the content of the page in the deletion summary, and if the page is an article about a living person it should not be restored or recreated by any editor until it meets biographical article standards.

  • G10 attack nonetheless, unsourced and disparaging, without a mention in the article. I can't find a RS to show that this has caught on enough to overcome the BLP issue.
  • Rush is sufficiently prominent that this should be sent to RFD
  • Would check further for BLP issues prior to not deleting
  • No context given if any of 63,000 Google hits are connecting
  • I can see people searching for it, but if someone feels strongly about deleting, a discussion is warranted.
  • I would send to RfD. Different from above in that there's a specific person who uses this term, and RL's listeners might not know whom he is referring to (although unlikely). I'd let RfD make the decision.
  • Ack
  • May have BLP issues though
  • anything Rush Limbaugh says should be automatically speedied under G10, or, even better, G13. his own csd rationale.
  • If it refers to Reid, we'll keep it.
  • Since it's attributable, it should be up for debate at RfD.
  • Same as "Stretch Pelosi" above. I would personally take to RfD, but G10 does apply in my humble opinion.
  • Send it to a deletion discussion… if it's used in the article, a section redirect might be better—if not, I tend weak delete…
  • But only if it's a purely derogatory nickname then G10, else leave it
  • Redirect to Jargon of The Rush Limbaugh Show (which I believe Balloonman has worked on ;)Again, only as minor edits if at all.
  • Verify the term is used almost exclusively for disparagement. If there is non-disparaging content related to this term, create a section in Harry Reid and redirect to that section.
  • Not G10 as some reliable sources refer to him as this. Send to RfD as it is a somewhat offensive nickname.
  • Same as Nancy Pelosi. Disparaging nicknames are not acceptable redirects. People can go to Encylopedia Dramatica or Uncyclopedia if that's what they want.
  • Probably send to RFD for a decision (or be a coward and let someone else decide)

Balloonman's analysis

[edit]

To me, this one is a little more clear than the Stretch Pelosi one above. Is it an attack phrase? Yes, but WP doesn't disallow negative comments, they just have to be cited and documented. This one is. But what makes this one different is that we can attribute it to a specific individual who has his own article on catch phrases such as this. I would change the redirect from Harry Reid to Jargon_of_The_Rush_Limbaugh_Show#D. This will tell the reader who is being referenced, as well as giving it context of coming from Rush Limbaugh. As such, I don't think this needs to be deleted or even discussed, just make the change.
