Switchblade Stanly is a band after recording in June 08 their songs were an idea but soon hit 1 on the charts in finland they are now well now through out the world. Not bad for a band that was formed in Clare, South Australia, Austaralia

It all started when Tom Barret (Guitar,Vocals and Drums) said to Morgan Barry (Guitar and Vocals) we should start a band. They both thought for a second and said yer but what should it be called. Tom looked around to see that Morgan had a stanly knife. Tom then said what about stany knife Morgan said narrr. Morgen then went into his draw a said what about Swithchblade stanly.

With Influences like Bullet For My Valentine, Dragonforce, Nickleback, Rise Against and Shoot to kill they were always going to be a good band.

The next 3 months Switchblade Stanly set out to write songs the first song then wrote was Rastaman it was then followed by In love with a cat. These two songs were writen by Tom Barret and Morgan Barry.

After about a month later Switchblade Stanly realized that they didnt have a bass player. Tom Barrett had a mate at school called Sam that played bass so he asked him if he wonted to join. He had to think about it for a while because his other band Ashton Drive was about to go on tour but thankfully Sam said yes.

Since the band has four songs IE Rastaman,In love with a cat plus a Drum solo and a Bass solo they then set out to record. with nothing but a laptop mic to record on the boys tryed to make their songs the best they could after recording their first album they need to show people their sond so they made a myspace page.

Two new member joined Switchblade Stanly Joey and Luca. Since Switchblade Stanly has become so big they thought that they needed a manger thats where joey came in. luca joined the band as a trumpet player but go fired because he was to bossy.

The next couple of months were bad for Switchblade Stanly when Morgan Barry moved to Bording school in Adelaide and Joey was fired for manging Ashton Drive and giveing them gigs behind our back.Tom Barrett said that 'We are starting to do covers of songs because we just cant write any at the moment' But there was light at the end of the tunnel and that light was Tom Huppatz.Tom had just had an opperation after stuffing his vocal cords singing in a metal band called Shoot to Kill the docters gave him 4 months but tom was determined to start singing again. Switchblade Stanly were grateful to have them singer from one of their influences im their band.

Later the band wrote the song Bunsin Burner. Tom Huppatz and Tom Barrett were interviewed and they said that Bunsin Burner is all about the hard times a how you allways have to battle though and that the boxer the goes the extra round all ways wins the fight my friend.

Sam and Tom went to see a constert one night the guitarist there was James as soon as he picked up the guitar they knew that James was good. After the show the provied james with an offer he could not refuse to join the band James said for sure. So now they had a second guitarsit Tom Barrett could worry about drums only.

A local writer worte a page in a magazine about Switchblade Stanly he then went on to write a book about them called Small Band Big Succsess the book was published and went on to win the award the best band book of Clare .
