Paul Thang Thai (Burmese: ဦးပေါလ်ထန်ထိုင်း; born 13 September 1945) is a teacher, writer and politician. He is a devout Christian.

Early life and education

Paul Thang Thai was born on 13 September 1945 in Sialam, Than Tlang Chin State, Myanmar. He is the son of Pu Lul Chum and Pi Sun Zing. He has five brothers and five sisters. He graduated from Rangoon University (Now Yangon University) with a degree in Bachelor of Arts (BA). Also, he completed his MA in theological course in 1999.

He worked as a teacher, a Principal (High School), a TEO (township Eduacation Officer) nearly 40 years under Ministry of Education in Myanmar.

2010: Competing in 2010 Myanmar General Election and Electing as MP

Paul Thang Thai was competing to be elected as MP (Member of Parliament) in 2010 Myanmar general election, representing the people from Thantlang, Chin State. He was elected as MP and served the best for his state and country. During he was serving as MP, he proposed and discussed more than 50 topics in Parliament House. In 2015, he declared he will no longer compete in 2015 Myanmar general election.

In 1985, he was elected and served as General Secretary in Thantlang township.

2015–present: Activities

From 2015, he was starting to write books and has published five books in Chin, Burmese and English.
