early 1970s Lyrical Abstraction pre Color Realism

Frank James Graham creating a test subpage for myself. Artist - painter. Bright vibrant abstractions at first. Moved into a Manhattan urban realism style in mid 70s. Acrylic medium with a subject matter best described as a vibrant Hopper approach. Painting both human interest as well as urban material like flashy advertising signs painted on full size buildings. Lately using the human image more as source material. Exhibited at Noah Goldowsky gallery NY in 70s in a group show with de Kooning and Olitski. Sold 3 large abstracts to Acquavella gallery in NY. Did a painting of Ivan Karp for example but also everyday scenes around New York City and State.

Grad Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA. Grad Pratt Institute with Robert Mapplethorpe and Catherine Murphy. Two years of graduate art studies SUNY, New Paltz, NY.

Ex wife is currently a painter. Mary Louise Koski Graham Bullock. I've been life long Manhattannite. Parents lived here too. Father in US Navy Reserve until died on USS Plymouth in 1943 eight months before I was born. USS Plymouth sunk by German submarine while on one of many convoy runs between NYC, Key West and Guantanamo, Cuba.
