User:Belazael

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The name Belazael comes from the Book Ptolemy's Gate in the Bartimaeus Trilogy. In the book, the main character Nathaniel fools the mercenary by claiming that he had a powerful afrit named Belazael and Belazael was about to attack.

I believe that of all the different forms of spirit (or demon), afrits are the best. Afrits in the story are upper ranking demons that are stealthy, quick, powerful, and in some cases, immune to the attacks of lesser demons such as djinn, foliots, and imps. The story is written in the point of view of a djinni, so afrits are portrayed as overrated in Bartimaeus's opinion, but all the demons he faces are at least as powerful as a lower level afrit. I am thinking of writing a similar story without the characters of the Bartimaeus trilogy. If I write the story, I would like feedback on whether you like it, if you think it connects to the Bartimaeus trilogy too much, and what sort of things may make it better or less connected to the story.

In this story I will be typing about an afrit named Belazael. He will be newly summoned and unused to being trapped in a form. As he goes along, the rules will stray from the path that the Bartimaeus trilogy takes. There will be different kinds of magic and demons with incredible power and the magicians will have more power than just the power they take from summonings. If I learn that typing a story is okay on a user page, I will start typing my story. If not, I will probably start asking opinions on favorite books.

Wtf...Marids are better.
